Windhaven Camp is located somewhere in the Illyrian Mountains in the Night Court. It's is described as a cold and harsh Illyrian war-camp built near the top of a forested mountain. It is built using bare rock and mud, interrupted only by crude, easy-to-pack tents centered around large fire pits. Near the tree line, a dozen permanent buildings are erected of the gray mountain stone. On the opposite end of the camp, there are sparring and training rings fully stocked with various weapons, weights and training supplies. The camp radiates a lack of warmth and joy.
As a child Rhysand, the son of the then High Lord of the court, was brought there by his mother for training, under the instruction of the Lord of the camp, Devlon. There he met Cassian and Azriel, who became like brothers to him and have been together ever since.
Once again it was visited by Rhys and his Inner Circle together with his mate, Feyre Archeron, and her sisters, Nesta Archeron and Elain Archeron, to see that everything was ready for the war that was about to break out.
When the war was carried out the warriors of this camp appeared in battle and many of them died due to the powers of the Cauldron. After the war, Rhys and Cassian decreed that all those Illyrian women who wanted to train to be warriors should be trained in the camp, something that the men did not like at all since according to their beliefs, women only served to take care of the home.
After the end of the War against Hybern several members of the camp were in the list that Azriel had compiled of the Illyrians who tried to cause animosity among the warriors by speaking badly about their High Lord, Rhysand, and the commander of the court's armies, Cassian. For this reason they both traveled to the camp to try to calm the situation.
While there Cassian had several discussions with Devlon for not being more participatory when it came to training the women.
