History[]
Rhysand's sister lived in the Night Court with her father, mother and brother.
While she was young, her brother befriended Tamlin, the son of the then High Lord of Spring Court, who was at that time the King of Hybern's greatest ally in the War against mortals in Prythian. She and her mother decide to journey to the Illyrian War-Camp where Rhys is currently training other Illyrians, to visit him. According to Rhysand's story, he told Tamlin about them coming to visit, and Tamlin then relays this information to his father and brothers for an unknown reason. Tamlin's father and Rhys's father were long-standing enemies. Rhysand's father, mother, and Cassian and Azriel disapproved of his friendship with Tamlin at the time. Tamlin's father and his sons (including Tamlin) travel to the Illyrian camp and Tamlin's father and brothers murder both Rhysand's mother and sister as retribution for the High Lord of the Night Court having freed his mortal slaves. They put their heads in boxes and send them down the river to the nearest camp. Tamlin's father also keeps their wings as trophies and pins them in his study. Rhysand states that he was supposed to meet them halfway on their journey to visit, but ended up staying to keep training the Illyrians. He carries guilt for this.
Upon infiltrating the Spring Court in A Court of Wings and Ruin, Feyre attempts to seek out these wings to give them back to Rhysand to provide him with some peace. She finds out that Tamlin burned both their wings sometime after the murder of his father to honor the dead.
Trivia[]
- According to Azriel, Rhysand's sister physically resembled their distant ancestor, Silene.[1]
- Rhysand tells Feyre that the view of Velaris near the Rainbow was his sister's favorite view, and his. He also looks toward the artists' quarters as he tells Feyre that it was his sister's favorite place and that their father would have to drag her out of Velaris kicking and screaming because she never wanted to leave as she loved it so much.[2]
