Ramiel is the Night Court and Illyrian's sacred mountain. It appears on the Night Court's insignia, and it is where the Illyrian Blood Rite takes place.
Geography[]
Ramiel is located in the center of the Illyria region in the Night Court, and is regarded as the holy mountain of the court.
It is the location of the Blood Rite, wherein the warriors attempt to survive and reach the onyx monolith at the summit. There are 3 paths to the summit, the most difficult being called "The Breaking" this path leads to the pass of Enalius. Wherein Enalius drew a line in the dirt and held it against enemy hoards - leading the Illyrians to hold the rite to honor him.
History[]
The first ruler of the Night Court made Ramiel his court insignia, the mountain depicted with three stars on top, which are only visible for one week a year, when the Blood Rite is performed.
Illyrian warriors who are ready to partake in the rite must fight to reach the top of Ramiel and touch the onyx monolith located there. There are 3 ways to pass the rite and be considered warriors. Where the warriors are when it ends sorts them into one of the three echelons of warrior, named after their holy stars:
- Arktosian, the ones who don't make it to the mountain but survive 7 days for the stars to align;
- Oristian, the ones who make it to the mountain but don't reach the top; and
- Carynthian, the ones who scale the summit and are considered elite warriors.
The onyx monolith at the top has the power to winnow them away from the Blood Rite to "wherever they are needed most" when it is touched, regardless of whether the rite is finished and their magic has been returned.

- Briallyn. - Appears at the final standoff with Nesta after she holds off Bellius and forces her to fight Cassian under her control
Trivia[]
- It is noted in "A Court of Silver Flames" by Eris Vanserra that there are 3 sacred mountains (Sacred Mountain, The Prison and Ramiel) and that there are large structures under 2 of them, but nobody knows what is under Ramiel because the Illyrians have never bothered to check.
