History[]

A Court of Thorns and Roses[]

A Puca finds its way into the gardens of the Spring Court outside Tamlin's manor. Feyre Archeron, watching from her window, is lured outside towards it as it appears to her as her father. It also appears as a bow and quiver of arrows, a pack of supplies, and her sisters, Nesta and Elain Archeron.

Tamlin intervenes before she gets too close to the gates, and explains to her what a puca is and how they catch their victims. He tells Feyre that the curse on Prythian weakened its borders, allowing the puca to enter the country and roam the courts as a puca wouldn't have dared to invade his court years before. He chases it away.

These lands used to be well guarded. The deadlier faeries were contained within the borders of their native territories, monitored by the local Fae lords, or driven into hiding. Creatures like the puca never would have dared set foot here. But now, the sickness that infected Prythian has weakened the wards that kept them out.

Tamlin, A Court of Thorns and Roses

Tamlin later broods over the presence of the puca in his court, even though it is not as big a threat as the Bogge he killed earlier.

Appearance[]

The puca's true appearance is unknown, as it only appears in the series disguised as Feyre's father and sisters. When describing the puca Tamlin says that the puca "belongs to the wind and weather and everything that changes."

They use your own desires to lure you to some remote place. Then they eat you. Slowly.
