Picts are a species of Lesser Faeries.
General Appearance[]
They have pitch-black, depthless eyes and sharp-featured pale faces with slightly pointed teeth. They look similar to the High Fae but are taller and leaner.
History[]
A Court of Thorns and Roses[]
After Feyre Archeron can't help but follow the sound of the drums on Fire Night despite being told by both Tamlin and Lucien to stay in her room and not leave until the next morning, she goes to where all the faeries are gathered.
There she finds herself at the entrance to a cave where she is approached by three unnamed faeries, who are picts. They think she is there to be part of the Great Rite and therefore want to take her to the forest to sexually abuse her.
When Feyre struggles in their arms to escape, she is rescued by Rhysand, who just by staring at the three faeries they flee in terror.
A Court of Mist and Fury[]
Rhysand confesses to Feyre that after getting away from her on the night of Calanmai he sought out these three faeries and manipulated their minds to then take them to Under the Mountain. There he made them tell Amarantha that they hated her and enjoyed when she tore them to pieces.
Trivia[]
