This unnamed mare is a pegasus owned by Helion, the High Lord of the Day Court.
History[]
Meallan's mate lives in the pens located in the highest tower of the Day Court Palace with her mate, Meallan. Around 300 years before the events of the series, she produced an off-spring with her mate, a male foal, that died shortly after birth due to an incurable illness. They hadn't had any more offspring ever since.
When Amarantha burned the Day Court Libraries, she also slaughtered many pegasuses that Helion had in the pen of the palace. Meallan, his mate, along with 12 other pegasus were the only survivors due to having been set free, and managed to fly to safety before Amarantha's cronies could manage to get to them.[1]
