History[]

About five hundred years ago, Devlon was Lord of the Windhaven Camp where Rhysand, Cassian, and Azriel trained and were part of his war-band during their younger years. They were hated by others for being half-High Fae and bastards, respectively.

He was the fairest of camp-lords towards male warriors as he gave Rhysand, Cassian, and Azriel ("a half-breed and two bastards") a shot at the Blood Rite and did not invalidate their victories, that made them Illyrian warriors.[2] However, he saw women as beings meant to be servants. While he did not clip their wings anymore, he fought any attempt by Rhysand to force him to let the women train with the war-band if they wished. He would state the girls had chores to do before he let them train, though Rhysand would say they would train first and do chores later.

When Rhysand realized they were tracking him through his powers, he and Feyre Archeron went to stay at the camp, where Devlon was still the leader.[3]

A Court of Wings and Ruin[]

Devlon was present at the battle that broke out in the Summer Court fighting alongside Tarquin's army and Keir's Darkbringers.

After that he moved along with the other Illyrians to the camp mounted on the Winter Court for the next battle against Hybern and finally fought in the final battle, which he survived and attended the meeting summoned by Feyre in the ruins of the Archeron's Estate in the Mortal Lands of southern Prythian to redefine a new Treaty.

A Court of Frost and Starlight[]

After the end of the war against Hybern Cassian went to Windhaven Camp to try to calm the spirits of the Illyrians, as they were furious at the number of men they had lost in the war.

Devlon had several arguments with Cassian due to his reluctance to let the women train.

A Court of Silver Flames[]

When Cassian brings Nesta to Windhaven to train, they are met by Devlon. Upon hearing that Nesta will be touching their weapons, he tells Cassian that they must be buried afterwards. He also tells them that if Nesta is on her period, she will not be allowed to touch the weapon at all. Cassian is angry at this and tells Devlon that these are outdated superstitions and that Nesta can touch any weapons that she wants.

Appearance[]

Devlon is a tall, stocky, broad-shouldered older male. He has dark hair and golden-brown skin. Like all other Illyrians, he has wings.
