History[]

A Court of Wings and Ruin[]

It made its first appearance when the King of Hybern sent two of his Ravens to capture Nesta Archeron. Feyre Archeron made a bargain with it; in return for killing the Ravens, it stated that it wanted company "to tell (it) of life." Feyre agrees and it attacks them brutally, though it left enough of their minds intact and fuctioning for Rhysand (who had just arrived with Cassian) to look into them, only killing them when he was done.As a marker for Feyre's new bargain, a tattoo appears around Feyre's left arm; it is a band about as thick around as her finger. Feyre later makes another bargain with it, claiming that "if it fights in the war, on their side she will install a window in the library so it can look at the sun and stars." Anyone who looked directly at it was horrified as Cassian did when Rhysand as a young man challenged him to see what was in the pit.

In the final battle, along with Stryga, better known as the Weaver, and the Bone Carver, they were the first to attack Hybern's forces.

After the battle Bryaxis disappeared so Rhysand told Feyre that she should look for it to return it to the library.

A Court of Frost and Starlight[]

After the end of the war against Hybern Bryaxis did not return to its home in the library and Rhysand said that they had to look for it. When Azriel asked him if he wanted him to do it, Rhys told him to do it after Winter Solstice.
