This spell book was stolen from the King of Hybern by Amarantha.
History[]
A Court of Thorns and Roses[]
Alis tells the story of Amarantha to Feyre Archeron, she tells her that Amarantha stole a book of spells from the King of Hybern, the kingdom from which she came, and that with it she had placed the curse that kept all court citizens of Prythian (with the exception of Spring Court) in Under the Mountain.
With a spell from this book she is able to steal the powers of the High Lords leaving them nothing but shadows of themselves and keeping them confined in Under the Mountain and in the case of the citizens of the Spring Court, prevented them from removing the masks they had worn at her masquerade.
After Feyre passes three trials and Tamlin murders Amarantha, the Attor flees to Hybern with the book.
A Court of Mist and Fury[]
The King uses the book to cast a spell to seal the exits of his castle to prevent Rhysand and his Inner Circle from escaping and also prevent them from using their powers.
A Court of Wings and Ruin[]
The King of Hybern once again uses the power of the book to cast a "Fleeting Spell", a type of spell that can only be used once, that allows him to infiltrate Velaris and sends two of his Ravens to abduct Nesta since she is Made by the Cauldron, she can sense when it is being used.
