Happy birthday Feyre! Let’s take a moment to appreciate our favorite high lady :)
So after months of begging and pleading, my boyfriend finally agreed to read aCoTaR!!!! *commence intense cheering*
So he just finished reading the part where we meet Lucien and here's his reaction to major plot points so far:
Feyre shoots the Fae wolf: "oh she should not have done that... this is gonna be bad..."
Tamlin comes for her: "if she goes with him, i'm throwing this book across the room" *throws book* "He is not a good guy! hes probably gonna abuse her or smth!" (he's leagues ahead of us already O_o)
They arrive at the Spring Court: "ok this is to good to be true"
They meet Lucien: "I like this guy... he's gonna be important later"
I'll keep you guys updated lmao...
I was trying so damn hard to give him the benefit of the doubt because I liked him in the first book. But no more. He emotionally abused Feyre. But not only that, he emotionally AND physically abused Lucien. Instead of getting Feyre away when he had the chance in the first book, they had sex. Seriously? After that, he and Ianthe ruled her life. Something that also gave me red flags was during the wedding, he tried to pull her to him. To me, it kinda seemed like he was trying to force her to say yes when she started hesitating, but that's just the way I saw it. He acted like a complete and total baby when Amarantha hurt the girl he loved, at least Rhys fought for her, and offered his help. Lucien was being watched too, but he still at least came to try and help. Tamlin didn't yell a warning to Feyre when she was stuck with the worm. The thing I hate most was how badly he treated Lucien, and I'm not sorry for rambling about it. He treated Feyre bad too, but she got out wayyy sooner. Lucien was still trying to be his friend, and be nice, and Tamlin still treated him like trash. Also, he let Ianthe relentlessly come onto him. I'll leave the Ianthe thing at that, because if I don't, I'll go off into another rant.
For the few that read my rant, thank you.
(Regarding the scene when they are talking about Helion)
I know Rhys was probably just riling her up. Because how would territorial Rhys be ok with sharing his mate? This reminds me of the nessian cut scene (which sjm admitted was basically fanfiction smut lol). But nessian weren't together so I guess better. But this concept would ruin feysand me thinks. Not to mention very out of character for both of them. Given how devoted and territorial they are.

Hey there! I just finished reading ACOTAR and ACOMAF and spent the last 2 days making a fan video for Feyre and Rhysand.. my GOD I love Rhys as a character <3 .. I would love for you to have a watch a let me know what you think! :)
This is just my opinion but after re-reading acosf after my friend said she thought feysand was ooc and seeing that other people agree I wanted to know what others thought. I personally don’t think they were, because for the last 3-4 books we have had them in the POV of mainly feyre so we are seeing them as a couple in her (feyre) eyes and this book is in Nestas POV so we are seeing feysand from an outside sort of view. I was just wondering if people thought the same as my friend or had different thoughts like me.
Does anyone else feel pieces of scenes and character personalities in songs they hear after having recently read ACOTAR books? I'd love to hear which ones really connect with you the most! These are a few that have stood out the most to me lately:
You should see me in a crown -- Billie Eilish (when Feyre visits the Hewn City)
More Time -- NEEDTOBREATHE (a song between Rhysand and Feyre at the beginning of the battles with Hybern, especially after the skirmish at Adriata -- for a while a sentiment they think past each other because Rhysand is so focused on everyone else's safety at his expense while Feyre is trying to convince him self-sacrifice isn't necessary. So the song has different meanings from each of their points of view)
Invisible string -- Taylor Swift (makes me think about what it might feel like to have a mating bond)
Follow You -- Imagine Dragons (reminds me of how Rhysand may have felt after Feyre comes to the Night Court from the Spring Court after Tamlin locks her in)
I'm excited to see which songs you all have been listening to!!
Here is what each character's name really means:
Feyre- beautiful/ fairy or elf
Rhysand- perfection/ bringer of darkness
Azriel- God is my help
Cassian- hollow, empty
Morrigan/ Mor- great queen
Amren- powerful, clever, logical mind
Elain- sun ray/ fawn
Gwyneth/ Gwyn- joy
Let me know if u want a part 2
I'm surprised some of them actually equal the character lol. I think I know where SJM gets her ideas for character's names from :)
Okay look the Tamlin from book 2 is not someone I support and I do not condone his actions BUT Tamlin from book 1 was a good man whose heart ached for even the enemies he killed. Sure he went through a lot at the end of ACOTAR but in the final scenes he did NOT change into this weird caricature of himself that actually sounds nothing like him save for his appearance, he was the same Tamlin but one with more hope and freedom. But this man saw the love of his life get tortured and then killed because of him, obviously he’s going to have issues! But issues like this require patience and communication which Feyre was terrible at. To be fair she was also going through PTSD but she could’ve said something after a few months when she was doing a lot better. Instead she turned bitter and cruel and used Tamlin’s unconditional love for her to break him down more. She used his broken mental state to justify her actions and felt no remorse, knowing full well what she was doing to him. He dared to hope again and she shattered all the remaining stability in his life. IDK about you but that was a total bitch move and I really hope Tamlin gets a mate ( one who deserves him) and that he gets to go back to being the person he was initially written as, even if slightly changed due to his experiences. Experiences shape people, but they don’t completely change a person into an unrecognisable different person! Let’s not do this simply for the sake of plot Maas.
