This is hard because I hate all of them but I don't think Tamlin was truly evil. He was just driven by what he thought was love for Feyre and jealousy which made him a bad person but I don't think he could classify as realllyyy evil idk lol

I agree, but I just don't like him. He makes me cringe a lot. But my hate is nothing for anyone.

So I picked Ianthe, and if anybody's wondering why, here are my reasons. If you didn't really want to know, that's fine; just skip this.

1. Tamlin honestly wasn't a bad character, he just was broken after Under the Mountain. It's simply in his nature to be a protector who guards everyone. Tamlin truly loved Feyre because in the first book Feyre was very different than the Feyre we see in ACOMAF and ACOWAR.

2. We don't see enough of the King of Hybern to truly decide whether he was bad or not. One of the only parts that we see of him is that he was turned bitter by A. losing the war and B. Having the Loyalists oppressed after the war. Like, that actually makes no sense. If you want peace, don't just oppress the losing side, that just makes them bitter. We don't see enough of his personality to truly feel a deep hate for him, we, or at least I, will never know enough to judge him unless we hear about his life. This is one of the reasons I want SJM to write a separate novel featuring him.

3. Amarantha was maybe the hardest out of all of these. It's truly hard to sympathize with her, and we see enough of her in ACOTAR to feel a deep hate for her. Here, I'm going to list a few reasons why she isn't the absolute WORST character, although it really goes against my nature to say she isn't absolutely terrible. A) She warned her sister against Jurian but Clythia still went ahead and was Jurian's lover. Then, turns out that Jurian was simply using her. I also think that if Clythia got a separate novel, we could learn to love her. After Jurian killed her, I think that Amarantha has a right to rage at him, although of course she has little reason to fight in the war. Of course, at the same time, she could have been indoctrinated to believe that Hybern was right in the war. B) She probably mourned Tamlin's father and truly hated Rhysand. I'm not going into details about what happened Under the Mountain. I think that SJM does a great job of weaving both good and bad into each of her characters, but I think that for Amarantha she did too good of a job of making everyone hate her. Even now, I literally have to look through each and every book to give reasons why Amarantha isn't the worst character.

4. Ianthe. Finally, we come to Ianthe. Of course, no one is born evil, but I feel like Ianthe slowly became evil, or at least partially what readers consider evil. She was a sexual predator who only wanted men for pleasure and for siring a child who she could use to rule Prythian. She was a sexual predator, too ambitious, actually ESCAPED Amarantha's reign and then had the NERVE to act above Feyre(well maybe not, but if you reread the beginning of ACOMAF, you see that she considers herself at least equal to Feyre), even going as far to disobey Feyre's direct orders, even seeing that she was traumatized by the color red and still using it, and greatly overestimated herself. In the end, she was only led into the Weaver of the Wood's cottage because she underestimated Feyre and only brought two guards. She was cruel, oppressive, condescending to those "beneath" her, and overall, her biggest fault was that she was a sexual predator. Although Amarantha may have used Rhysand as revenge for Tamlin's father, she never(probably) preyed on the young men of Prythian. On the other hand, Ianthe had no morals(and no, this does NOT mean that I condone slut-shaming), and it was known by everyone. Feyre literally made eyes at two other men while with Jurian when she pretended to be Ianthe and no one thought anything of it, because THAT WAS THE TYPE OF THING SHE WOULD DO. She literally admitted to Rhysand that their kid could rule Prythian, she could rule Prythian through it, and she only wanted him to play stud. She relentlessly went after Lucien, even though she already knew he hated her, and forced herself on him on Calanmai. AND WE HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED ON ELAIN AND NESTA. While she may have actually had "good intentions", (highly doubtful) she still sold out two innocent human girls to Hybern, knowing that they'd be turned into Fae after Feyre literally confessed to her that her sister(s) hate(s) Fae. She allowed them to be dragged away in chains to undergo a horrific transformation in the Cauldron, and likely also knew of the mortal queens, Demetra, Vassa, and the mortal queens' greed. And she didn't even tell Tamlin, her "childhood friend". Yes, Tamlin acted badly sometimes. Yes, he was a bit selfish and possessive after Under the Mountain. However, that is what ALL HUMANS(and Fae) do. All in all, in my opinion, Tamlin's the least bad out of all of these, and he was never "evil".
